About the Project
We designed the inaugural Voluntary Gender Review (VGR) report for City Hub and Network for Gender Equity (CHANGE), a global coalition of cities dedicated to advancing gender equality. This comprehensive document presents case studies, data indicators, and policy frameworks from eight member cities across five continents, representing over 57 million people.
The report examines how local governments are addressing systemic gender inequities through innovative initiatives in economic opportunity, physical autonomy, local governance, and built environment sectors. We developed a visual system using strategic color-coding by topic area while staying true to CHANGE’s brand, gradient motifs that represent the spectrum of gender experiences, and accessible data visualizations to highlight key insights. The design, created in both English and Spanish, balances policy documentation with engaging storytelling, transforming local initiatives into a cohesive visual narrative that serves both as an educational resource and a call to action for cities worldwide.
